It Takes Growth

He was nine years old when he was first incarcerated. He had a run-in with the law until the age of 54 years. Some would say or ask, ” well that was his fault”, or ” it took him that long to learn”. Well, I say to you. That it takes growth. Nothing can be said as to why it took so long. Because growth and experience have their own time clock.

Even in and out of the system, losing all those years of his life. I can’t imagine. Now that I know that his life can’t be clear or mentioned through the lens of my eye, but only through the lens of his own. I think that it had to take the constant incarceration, which is what made him who he is today.

Today is married to a mother of three grown children. He has two children of his own. He now works a full-time job and has been since his last release. He loves to help the elderly in his spare time doing home improvements. He is a no none sense type of man. Not willing to allow any situation to turn him back to his old way. Not even himself.

So you see Growth is a process. You have to have patience with yourself in order to have a full-filling life. Age doesn’t make you an adult, Experience does. In the event that you fail at something, you feel better about it when you succeed. Be proud of your failures, so that when you conquer the bad. You appreciate All the good. It is something that we all have in us already. Since the day of birth. To be able to accept your life. Through your own lens. Not anyone else.

Can you imagine changing your life, just by changing the concept of your own view? No matter how old or long, just think that you are in your own way of success. Success isn’t just about a better job. Or it could be to you. Whatever it is, just do. It Takes Growth.
